This single-owner, pre-loved Backpacker is in great shape without scratches, obvious dents/dings, warping, or arching. Hardware and fretboard are clean. The top is sitka spruce. Mahagony neck, back, and sides are solid and blemish-free. Strap and gig bag are also in good condition. These earlier manufactured Backpackers were crafted from single slabs of mahogany, without a separate neck joint, which is supposed to make it stronger. The headstock and body start flush with the neck for a more streamlined silhouette than the current model. Martin altered this original Backpacker design in 2002.
